A fully-funded Research Assistant at the Unified Database Management Group in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki is available now.
As more businesses realized that data, in all forms and sizes, is critical to making the best possible decisions, we see the continued growth of systems that support massive volume of non-relational or unstructured forms of data. The research focus of this job is to develop new principles and algorithms for a novel unified database management system to manage both well-structured data and NoSQL data.
Qualifications for the Position
A Master or PhD student in mathematics, statistics, computer science or equivalent. The student should understand or is willing to learn category theory (e.g. Introduction to Category Theory I & II).
Through this opportunity, The student will gain expertise in managing multiple model data in complex, modern applications, with strong skills in big data analytics, data modeling, and complex query processing.
